Coastal Empire Seniors Get into the Holiday Spirit with a Daytrip to Roswell’s Antebellum Holiday Dinner

 

Nothing makes a Coastal Georgia Senior feel younger than celebrating in a setting that is over a hundred and fiftyyears old. By comparison, we’re spring chickens.

The 2013 Antebellum Holiday Dinner in Roswell GA allows Coastal Empire Seniors to make a quick day trip – back in time.

The fun doesn’t stop after Friday’s Christmas Dinner. It continues on Saturday with a holiday tour of historic homes.
Living History actors will bring Roswell’s rich history to life  the streets. Join the Roswell Historical Society for a fun filled weekend of events including:
  • Living history (1850s)
  • A tour of historic home
  • A special holiday bazaar
  • A holiday bonfire
  • Square Lighting Ceremony
  • Grandchildren’s events at Roswell’s teaching museum
  • Join the living history actors as they sing period Christmas carols.

This exciting new event will engage you with Roswell’s history in many engaging ways.

As you tour the streets of Roswell from house to house during the tour of homes, you will encounter period crafters and “living history” interpreters along your way. These dedicated actors will portray various well-known figures from Roswell’s past.For Coastal Empire seniors looking to really kick it up a notch, wear your own (or rented) period clothing as you tour  historic holiday Roswelland enter the best dressed contest.

Winners will be announced that evening at the Bonfire.Shop for gifts at the Holiday Bazaar in the Barn at Barrington Hall.

This event does have a grandchild friendly component. Bring your grandchildren to enjoy fun period-related activities at The Teaching Museum of Roswell.
Watch the Square light up for the holidays and sing along with the carolers on Canton Street.
