Golf holds a special place in the hearts of Coastal Empire Seniors. We’ve given up so many “childish things” over the decades. Golf is one of the things we can still do.
In fact, many Coastal Georgia Seniors are better golfers today than they were in their 20s and 30s- perhaps because today we actually have time to practice!
Coastal Empire Seniors also have lots of many memories of watching golf. Many of us can remember watching golf in black and white with our fathers (and color for some of you fifty-something Georgia seniors. Youngsters).
We were blessed to watch some of the greats – Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo.
These gentlemen are still playing some world class golf as part of the PGA Champions Tour.
This year the PGA Champions Tour has exactly one tournament scheduled for Georgia – The Greater Gwinnett Championship in Duluth.
Packing up the old station wagon (okay, Camry) to watch the PGA Champions Tour is a perfect Coastal Georgia Senior road trip.
Hotel Rooms are selling out fast (Duluth has significantly less of them than Savannah or Atlanta). If you can’t find one, call a buddy with an RV. He’s been talking about a good old Coastal Empire senior road trip for a while hasn’t he?
Don’t miss this opportunity to see some of the legends of golf, practically in our own backyards.
Join Coastal Empire Seniors for the 2014 Greater Gwinnett Championship April 14-20. This will be our one 2014 PGA Champions Tour event, so let’s enjoy it to the fullest Coastal Georgia Senior golf fans.
