One ice cream parlor takes Savannah seniors back to their childhood – Leopold’s.

Leopold’s Ice Cream dates back to 1919. All flavors are made on the premises, one batch at a time, using top-secret family recipes handed down from the original Leopold brothers.

Try some of Savannah ice cream fans’ favorite historic flavors – like Johnny Mercer’s favorite, Tutti Frutti – made exactly as they were in 1919.

Wondering why Leopold’s pistachio ice cream isn’t green? No artificial dyes, of course! No tricks or gimmicks – Leopold’s uses only the best all-natural ingredients, hand-picked for quality and with the original, secret ice cream recipes.

It is a beautiful store, designed by Academy Award nominated designer Dan Lomino. Dan used many of the original fixtures from Leopold’s historic original location and applied his Hollywood magic to create the wonderful store you see today. There are props, posters, and signed photographs of actors Dan and Stratton have worked with over the years.

Leopold’s is once again an ice cream parlor circa 1935. Much of the décor is original including the original soda fountain, soda fountain cover, back bar, sundae holders, banana split boats, malted milk dispenser, etc., etc., are available and are still being used. Even the old Philco radio and the wooden, interior phone booth from the old store are being used.

If you have a hankering to visit an old fashioned Savannah ice cream parlor, you’re always welcome at Leopold’s – it will really take you back in time.
